In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top investing and financial management apps in South Africa showed varied performance on the unified platform, according to data from Sensor Tower.

OKX: Buy Bitcoin BTC & Crypto began the quarter with a significant peak in weekly downloads, reaching around 92.9K in early October. However, this number gradually decreased, ending the quarter with approximately 1.3K downloads in the final week of December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at 78.4K and declining to about 21.5K by the end of the quarter.

Pocket Broker experienced a more stable pattern. Downloads peaked in late October with roughly 32.8K, before settling at around 10.4K by the end of December. The app maintained a fairly consistent level of weekly active users, starting at approximately 69.4K and closing the quarter at 75.5K.

MetaTrader 5 — Forex, Stocks showed a steady decline in weekly downloads, beginning at 16.7K and dropping to about 12.7K. Despite this, weekly active users remained robust, with numbers fluctuating between 370K and 504K throughout the quarter.

Luno: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto saw an increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 22.4K in early December. The app's active user base also grew significantly, starting at 427K and reaching a high of 785K by mid-December.

Finally, Exnova - Mobile Trading App had a notable increase in downloads during December, peaking at around 27.1K. Active users were recorded at approximately 38.8K by the end of the quarter.
